Community support and a good diet are crucial in the fight against HIV/AIDS. There are two support groups under Primach for those living with HIV/AIDS.  We have one in each of our target areas, Kabanana and Mwapona compounds.

                          Objectives:
                          • take care of each other in the face of little access to medical and food resources and amid rejection by others in the community,
                          • to be educated about the disease
                          • tackle stigma in their community by being open about their positive status
                          • encourage their neighbours to be aware of the dangers of HIV/AIDS.

                          Activities
                          Information Empowerment
                          • The groups hold regular classes to learn about medication and care for those living with the disease
                          • Promote prevention strategies
                          • Facilitates open community discussion of a topic which still carries stigma

                          Adult Literacy Classes
                          • The literacy classes attract people from all over the town to an environment where they can learn about HIV.
                          • Builds dignity and self worth
                          • Equips parents with the skills to help their children with homework
                          • Promotes the importance of being educated
                          • gardening and poultry projects
                          • Supplement their diets, which will result in better resilience to illness and greater capacity to cope with the strong medication.
                          • To generate income in order that each member may be able to meet the daily needs of their families
